The Importance of Water  for Bees

Wild and solitary bees are  amongst our most important pollinators, however they are often overlooked. Unlike honey bees, they dont live in large hives or have bee keepers to care for them. They are independent, working alone to pollinate our flowers, fruit, crops and vegetables which is vital to help whole ecosystems thrive.

These bees still need water. They rely on fresh, safe sources not just for drinking but to also help keep them cool during hot weather. In the wild natural puddles and damp soil provides what they need but with climate and habitat change these are becoming less available, particularly during dry spells. By placing a Bumblebloom in your garden filled with fresh water and a safe landing thanks to the clear pebbles which are included in each pack, you're offering wild bees, butterflies, birds and pollinators a helping hand whilst making your garden a sanctuary for nature. Our Bumblecups and Bumbleblooms also provide spots of year round colour to your garden or outside space.
